FREE KIDNEY HEALTH SCREENINGS DURING “FLORIDA KIDNEY DAY” ON NOVEMBER 6, 2019

Healthmap Solutions Joins Florida Renal Association and National Kidney Foundation of Florida to raise awareness of kidney disease

NOVEMBER 5, 2019, TAMPA, FLORIDA — Healthmap Solutions, a rapidly growing national Kidney Health Management (KHM) company, today announced its partnership with the Florida Renal Association (FRA) and National Kidney Foundation of Florida (NKFF) to offer free kidney health screenings in recognition of the 16th Annual “Florida Kidney Day” on November 6, 2019. The screenings are available from 9 am to 3 pm on the second floor of the State Capitol, located at 400 South Monroe Street in Tallahassee.

Florida Kidney Day raises awareness of kidney health, and in particular, the importance of early detection and treatment of Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD). The free program will screen thousands of Floridians for kidney disease, along with high blood pressure and diabetes, two chronic conditions that are often precursors of kidney disease.

“This unique partnership elevates the importance of early detection and intervention in the prevention of CKD,” said Joe Vattamattam, chief executive officer of Healthmap Solutions. “Healthmap identifies people at risk of, or who already have, kidney disease and empowers them and their caregivers with information and proven clinical programs. By doing so, we know that patients stay healthier, care outcomes are measurably better, and we can contain costs in the process, which is good for everyone with a stake in the health of people with or at risk of developing kidney disease.”

There are more than 37 million Americans living with CKD, and many remain unaware they have the condition until the disease progresses to more serious stages. Early detection and intervention have been shown to slow the progression of the disease and in some cases, prevent it from developing into CKD or End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD), the most serious stage of the disease that requires dialysis or a kidney transplant to survive.

To reduce the likelihood of developing CKD, Healthmap Solutions urges Floridians and everyone throughout the country to get an annual kidney health screening, understand the risk factors and maintain a kidney healthy lifestyle that includes proper nutrition, regular exercise, and an annual physical exam.
