Our hearts and thoughts are with all of those affected by the wildfires that swept through Lahaina this week. The National Kidney Foundation of Hawaii is joining the relief effort by raising funds to provide disaster grants to help affected kidney patients with:
- clothing and personal essentials
- payment assistance for temporary housing and transportation
- payment assistance for special dietary nutrition and medications
Patients on dialysis need to continue receiving treatment to survive. We will be working with Maui dialysis professionals to get care to patients in need of assistance as quickly as possible. Every effort is being made to identify those who need alternate arrangements for dialysis to safeguard their health.
